Do You Feel Alone In Your Search for Qualified Candidates?

Occasionally, it only takes a change of scenery to spark new ideas. Recently, during a Safari in Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa, I took this photo of a solitary giraffe.

As a leading Talent Attraction Consultant, my process is to see things differently. Then determine how those thoughts lead to new solutions.

Many times, when speaking with Hiring Managers about their search for qualified candidates, they feel they are the only ones suffering through the drought of great candidates. What needs to change to improve the quality of candidates?

My suggestion is to follow the ABCs of preparing to attract the Best Qualified Candidates.

A is Attitude – instead of dreading the recruitment process, EXPECT SUCCESS! Your attitude determines your results. If you expect poorly qualified candidates to apply, you will unconsciously work to ensure the result meets your expectation.

By EXPECTING SUCCESS in sourcing and hiring the best qualified candidates, you will attract the Best Qualified Candidates. Research demonstrates that our brains support our beliefs.

Begin to source better qualified candidates on your own, simply by calling people that you know and asking them who do they feel you should contact next. Your network knows you and they know who You should interview. Do not depend on an administrator to identify and recruit top talent.

C is Consistent Effort – Every SALES Process requires consistent effort. The perception among Managers is that it needs to become their full time job. Therefore, they blow off Recruiting.

When the word gets out that you are hiring and managing the best talent, the best candidates will reach out to you. Wouldn’t that be the best solution to grow your team?

Follow the Talent Attraction ABCs and grow your reputation as a Manager. As your reputation grows, your income will grow.
