HOW DOES A JOB IN HIGH SCHOOL PREDICT SUCCESS WORKING FOR A CONCRETE CONTRACTOR?

This is the second Thought Leadership article written for the Concrete Foundations Association quarterly magazine, Concrete Facts. This is the Voice and Recognized Authority for the Residential Concrete Industry. Since many of the construction industry’s new employees are younger workers, this is an important conversation on how to determine which workers may have the best work ethic.

As a leading Talent Attraction Consultant, it is important for me to assist organizations in their attraction of the best qualified workers, yes even concrete workers.

In this article, I cite Dr. Bradford Smart’s book, TOPGRADING: How Leading Companies Win By Hiring, Coaching, And Keeping The Best People. He discusses that young adults learn a proper work ethic by working in high school.

My article also discusses the 8 different ways that I, or you, may structure interview questions. In one question, candidates may emotionally think that I am not the nice guy they originally thought that I was.

My articles draw from my 40+ years of Professional Recruiting experience combined with 26+ years of professional Career Coaching experience. My 3rd book, EXPECT SUCCESS! The Science Of The Over 50 Career Search, received a 5 STAR review from Joe Wisinski at Readers Favorite: Book Reviews and Book Award and was recognized by The C-Suite Network as 1 of 100+ Best Business Books.
